A native of Kerala, Kripa K Baby has completed her Masters in Landscape Design from CEPT university, Gujarat which she pursued after obtaining her architecture degree from Kollam. She is the founder of Thinking Hats Landscape Architecture Studio which is a landscape design and research-oriented studio located in Calicut that focuses on landscape architecture and ecological planning. She is a firm believer in creating landscapes that are not only aesthetically engaging but also ecologically responsible.

Kripa firmly believes that sustainability is not just an ideal but the foundation of every project she undertakes. She actively integrates native vegetation, water-sensitive design, and renewable materials like bamboo in every project to minimize environmental impact. There is a firm focus on regenerative practices that enhance ecological balance while ensuring that the spaces remain functional and inspiring.

Through every project — whether completed or ongoing — Kripa strives to design landscapes that sustain themselves, foster community engagement and set a precedent for responsible, future-focused design. She recently worked on the Vendome rooftop park at K-Mall, Calicut mall. With limited open spaces in the area, this project serves as a recreational and social hub for small to medium-scale gatherings. By efficiently utilizing the compact terrace, the design incorporates multi-functional zones, ensuring accessibility and seamless circulation while integrating greenery. She wishes to work on the ecological restoration of the laterite quarry at Mavoor by integrating it with a bamboo farm initiative.
